Commissions

I welcome commissions and don't charge any more than I would for one of my 'off the shelf' originals. My prices are based on the relative complexity of the piece and, to a lesser extent, the size of the paper.

You can contact me directly to discuss your requirements. If the scene you're commissioning is relatively local to Edinburgh I will try my best to visit in person and carry out some prep sketch work and take my own photographs. However, this isn't always an option e.g. if you live in California (unless you'd like to fly me over!).

I therefore often rely on you to supply good quality reference images.

On this page you will find pieces that have been commissioned. As you will see my style lends itself to a range of subjects from urban scenes to 'pure landscapes' to house portraits. I tend to avoid painting people where possible!

To the right we have an A3 painting of the Cannongate Kirk in Edinburgh. A few examples of recent commissions are shown below.

This is Ardoe House in Aberdeenshire. It was commissioned by the owner's son. This was a very large painting, around 30 inches wide.

This is Newhaven Lighthouse at sunset. Commissioned as a birthday gift and, with kind permission, featured in my 2024 calendar.

This is Murlough Bay in Northern Ireland. Another super large painting (for me) at 20x30 inches.
